Carly Cheyenne Weasel Child

Oki/Hello, my name is Carly Cheyenne Weasel Child and I am from the Siksika Nation and a member of the Blackfoot Confederacy.

I am passionate about creative arts and my culture. I work in videography, graphic design, photography, writing and music production; I am also a contemporary jingle dress dancer, a beadwork artist and a seamstress. My modeling journey began in 2013 at a mini fashion show on my rez at a youth conference. The following year, I became the 2014 Calgary Stampede First Nations Princess where I received more training and experience in the modeling industry. Overall, my favorite thing about modeling is having the opportunity to meet and collaborate with many creative and inspirational Indigenous artists: the designers, beadwork artists, photographers, makeup artists and hairstylists. There are so many talented Indigenous people in this field, and I am grateful for the chance to support and work alongside these amazing people.
